How to Sell

At Cutcaster, we value our contributors and are committed to helping you make the most of selling your photos and vectors at Cutcaster.com.

To get started, register to become a contributor. Make sure to select the checkbox to indicate you want to sell your photos on Cutcaster.

Royalty Payments

Cutcaster offers generous royalty payments.

• 55% Exclusive Royalty Rate: Earn 55% of the sales price of any images you sell.

When you choose to sell images with Cutcaster on an exclusive basis, you contract with us to sell your images only on Cutcaster.com or your personal website. You can also sell your images via hard copy (DVD, CD, etc.). You may not sell the images via download through any other third- party website or any stock photography websites similar to Cutcaster.com.

• 40% Non-Exclusive Royalty-Rate: Earn 40% of the sales price of any images you sell.

When you choose to sell images with Cutcaster on a non-exclusive basis, you contract with us to sell images via download through Cutcaster.com, but you may also sell your files for download or hard copy through any other third-party.

• 10% Buyer referral: If you refer the buyer of your image, you receive an extra 10% on top of your royalty payment.

Getting Paid

You receive payments for your sales in a given month within a few days after the month ends, but no later than the 15th day of the month following the sales. If you don’t reach the minimum payout of $25 in any given pay period, earnings are carried forward to the next pay period.

You can also request a payout any time your unpaid earnings reach $25. Log in to your account, and choose Earnings from the Profile menu in the upper-right corner of the window.  Click Request Payout and follow the onscreen instructions. We pay by Paypal or check.

Withholding Taxes

Cutcaster is a U.S. based corporation, and we must comply with U.S. tax laws. These laws mandate that we deduct 30% withholding tax from royalties paid on sales from US-based buyers to sellers who are not residents or citizens of the U.S

This 30% withholding tax may be reduced or eliminated if you are resident of a tax treaty country and provide Cutcaster with a properly completed treaty claim. Here is a list of countries that have tax treaties with the United States, and their corresponding tax rates.

To ensure that these withholding tax laws are properly administered, the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has designed Form W-8BEN for the purposes of:

• Certifying that you or your company is not a U.S. citizen or tax resident, and/or

•; Claiming reduction in, or exemption from, U.S. withholding tax under an applicable income tax treaty

Cutcaster is required to obtain a W-8BEN from each contributor requesting a royalty payout who is not a U.S. citizen or resident and receives royalty payments from our site. To complete and upload the form, log in to your account, and click the Profile menu in the upper-right corner of the window. Then go to Earnings > Upload Tax Forms.
